The exact wording from 15 August, five days before launch:

Quick reminder: YAZS will release simultaneously on Steam, GOG, PlayStation 4 & 5, and Xbox One & Series. The Nintendo Switch version will follow soon after.

Why PS5 is the most-searched platform

PS5 is, by search volume, the single biggest platform question about this game — bigger than Xbox and Switch combined in most windows. Part of that is install base, but part is history: PS4 and PS5 got demo versions in March 2026, five months before the full release, while Xbox players had been able to buy a Game Preview build since September 2025. So PlayStation players had the longest stretch of “playable but not purchasable,” which is exactly the state that generates searches.

Both PlayStation builds exist as separate versions — the studio’s phrasing was “one for each generation” — rather than one build with a PS5 patch.

The Switch situation

This is the live gap, and it is worth being precise about it.

The studio has been open about the difficulty. In May 2026:

Switch: We’re working hard on getting the game ready to be enjoyed on Switch, but that takes a bit more work than we estimated. Still, we’re hoping for it to be available at launch, and if not - soon after.

It was not available at launch. As of the end of August 2026, ten days after 1.0, no Switch date has been announced in any patch note or post.

There is also no Switch demo, and the reason is a storefront rule rather than a development problem: the studio explained it “can’t be uploaded to eShop without the full version of the game being ready.” So on Switch there is currently nothing at all — no demo, no game.

Switch 2 is further out still. From the same May post:

Switch 2: We’d love to create an upgraded version of the game, but we’re not yet approved for Nintendo Switch 2 development. We’ll most likely work on a separate release and/or an upgrade once Nintendo is hopefully able to provide us with a devkit.

That is a hardware-access problem, not a scheduling one. Treat Switch 2 as unannounced.

There is no mobile version

Searches for an Android or iOS version are common, and there is nothing behind them. The game has never been announced for mobile, the Steam store page lists Windows only, and no studio post in three years of Early Access has mentioned a phone version. If you find a site offering an APK, it is not this game.

The likely source of the confusion is genre: the bullet-heaven format has a lot of mobile entries, and the game’s biggest genre neighbour, Vampire Survivors, is on phones. This one is not.

Xbox Game Preview, and what happened to it

Xbox players were the first onto consoles. The Game Preview version — Microsoft’s equivalent of Early Access — went live on 18 September 2025 for Xbox One and Series, after the studio was selected into the programme. Demo progress transferred into the retail version.

The studio was candid about why consoles took so long and why the approach differed per platform: Sony and Nintendo’s rules meant it had to skip an early-access-style release on both, so PlayStation and Switch had to wait for the full game while Xbox did not.

Game Pass and other subscriptions

No official mention exists. The studio has never announced a Game Pass, PS Plus or subscription-service deal in any post, and none appeared at launch. Searches for it are common; evidence for it is not.

Cross-platform play and cross-save

Neither exists, and neither can — the game is single-player only, so there is nothing to play across platforms. Steam Cloud handles saves within Steam, and per-device settings mean your graphics options do not follow you between machines. There is no announced cross-save between Steam and consoles.

Steam Deck

Verified since November 2025 — see the Steam Deck guide for what that covers and which settings to change.
