All 5 Arenas: Unlocks, Bosses and Hazards
The five arenas
| Arena | Added | Final boss achievement | Signature hazard |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Isolated City | Launch | I’m The Boss | The baseline arena — everything else is balanced against it |
| Vile Wasteland | Early Access | I Must Not Fear | The Undead Worm, plus mummies and Scarabs |
| Green Hell | Early Access | Wendi Go Away | Acid pools; the Werewolf |
| Dead Terminal | September 2025 | Train Suplex | Trains, which will hit you |
| Bio Lab | Version 1.0 | Still Alive | A circular map ringed with toxic fumes and a decontamination zone |
The unlock chain matters if you are trying to reach the newest content: Bio Lab unlocks after completing Dead Terminal on Default mode, which is the one gate the studio published explicitly in the 1.0 changelog. Boss Rush then unlocks after Hardcore, per map.
Bio Lab, the 1.0 arena
The studio describes it as “the place it all started” — the facility whose experiments are said to have caused the apocalypse. Two things make it structurally different from the other four:
- It is a circle. The 1.0 post calls it “shaped differently than any other before, being a circle, the borders of which are filled with toxic fumes.”
- It has an active hazard on a timer. A decontamination process runs during the fight, and being caught inside the red danger zone is fatal. Patch 1.0.0a specifically fixed a lock that could happen “when killed by the decontamination zone,” which tells you how often it was killing people at launch.
Bio Lab also arrived with the most launch bugs of any arena: 1.0.0b made it selectable on the leaderboards, and the 1.0.0c2 sub-hotfix fixed its Boss Rush final boss. If you played it in the first week and something felt broken, it probably was.
Arena achievements
Each arena carries the same set, which is why arena achievements are the single largest category after the mission ones. Per arena you have:
- Survive until dawn — the Default win condition
- Endurance at 10, 20 and 30 minutes — three separate achievements
- A Hardcore clear
- An Extermination wipe — “annihilate all enemies”
- The final boss kill
Named examples, so you can find them in the full list:
| Arena | Dawn | Endurance 10 / 20 / 30 | Hardcore | Extermination |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Isolated City | — (see I’m Pro Gamer!) | 50,000 People / Used to Live Here / Now It’s a Ghost Town | I’m Pro Gamer! | Hasta La Vista, Baby |
| Vile Wasteland | Arrived at Your Desert Nation | The Desert of The Dead / Dead Rude Sandstorm / Wild Wild West | Un-Dead Redemption | Waves In The Sand |
| Green Hell | Cruel, Cruel Moon | The Trees That Whisper / Song Of Sorrow And Grieving / The Moonlight Shadow | I Graduated Green Berets | Blood Makes The Grass Grow |
| Dead Terminal | Tickets Please! | Slow Train / Fright Train / Crazy Train | Bullet Train | Final Destination (20 waves) |
| Bio Lab | The Cake Is A Lie | This Was A Triumph / I’m Making a Note Here / Great Success! | I Don’t Blame You | No Hard Feelings |
The Bio Lab set is a straight run of Portal references, which is a reasonable hint about the tone of the facility you are fighting through.
Arena-specific enemies and challenges
Several achievements only exist because a particular enemy lives in a particular place:
- The Undead Worm — Vile Wasteland. “Om Nom Nom” wants you to feed it 500 zombies; “Why Didn’t You Dodge!?” wants you to survive being hit by it five times in one run; “Deworming” wants a full run in the Wasteland without ever touching it.
- Trains — Dead Terminal. “I Like Trains” wants you hit by one five times and alive; “I Hate Trains” wants a clear without being hit at all; “Please Stand Away From the Tracks” wants you to arrange a fatal railway accident for a boss.
- Acid — Green Hell. “Floor is… Acid?” wants a clear without touching a single acid pool.
- Mummies and Scarabs — Vile Wasteland. “Scara-boss? Scarab-less!” wants the Big Mummy dead before it summons any Scarabs; “Circular Decomposition” is a mummy kill.
- Named elites everywhere — The Witch (“Beelzeshmub”, killed before she summons minions), the Charger (“Wrong Power Cord!”, killed before it charges), the Chainsawman (“Dirty Dancing”, killed before he spins) and the Werewolf (“Bad Dog!”, killed before it pounces).
Notice the pattern: five separate achievements ask you to kill a specific elite before its signature move. That is the game teaching you enemy tells, and it is the most transferable skill in the game — each one is a different window, and there is no way to brute-force them with damage alone at low ranks.
How many maps are there?
Five. This question gets asked constantly because the number changed twice during Early Access — Dead Terminal arrived in September 2025 and Bio Lab in August 2026 — so any guide older than a few months gives you three or four. As of version 1.0.0c, it is five, and the studio has not announced a sixth.
