What Ghost is for
Ghost builds are among the most-searched builds for this game and among the least forgiving. The kit is burst damage with a high ceiling and little margin for error, which is a poor fit for the way 1.0 rebalanced runs — fewer basic zombies, more elites, tougher bosses. Strong in the hands of someone who has learned enemy tells; punishing otherwise.
Ranks
Every survivor has five ranks, the fifth added in version 1.0 along with two new synergy nodes, two passive improvement nodes, and one passive node that buffs the whole team whenever Ghost is in the squad. Ranks 2 through 5 each have an achievement:
| Rank | Achievement |
|---|---|
| Rank 2 | Bravo Six, Going Dark |
| Rank 3 | Haunting Presence |
| Rank 4 | Banshee Scream |
| Rank 5 | Cutting Edge Technology |
The Survival Level each rank requires has never been published by the studio, and is not guessed at here.
Personal mission chain
Ghost asks for five missions, each its own achievement, and unlocks repeatable quests afterwards. Every one raises Team Bond, the squad-wide bonus to Cash and Specialization Points.
Encapsulation → Compilation → Recursion → Defragmentation → Refactoring
The mission chain is software engineering terms, ending on Refactoring — a survivor whose personal arc is a code review.
Patch history worth knowing
Patch 1.0.0b de-jittered Kunai Dance’s visuals. A March 2025 patch fixed a Devil’s Deal item interaction with the Electrocution: Toxic ability evolution.
